3/28/13

Sophie has recently taken to closing her eyes and yelling "but you can't see me!" when I tell her it's time for bed.

3/27/13

These GF paleo chocolate chip cookies were a big hit. The kids and I loved them. Eric is a wee bit tired of my healthified bakes goods.

3/26/13

Didn't snap a photo today, so here's another fun one from yesterday.  They were using various tools to draw pictures in the sand.

3/25/13

Today was our first day of spring break.  Sophie awoke at 5:30 a.m. and it snowed most of the day.  Not exactly what I had in mind to start this week off, but we made the most of it, and pretty much had the Children's Museum to ourselves for the first hour it was open.  My kids heart crafts.

3/23/13

10 miles this morning. Weather was ridiculously cold but sunny. Cherry Blossom
10 miler in two weeks!

3/22/13

I love white wine in the spring and summer. This particular bottle of sauvignon blanc is one of my favorites!

Sophie had an easter egg hunt at MMO this morning and go to pick a treat to eat on the way home!

3/19/13

Emily had her best friend, Tessa, come over for a play date this afternoon.  The girls helped me dye some eggs.  But note to self: organic, cage-free brown eggs just don't cut it for this activity.  Luckily I had a few plain white ones too!

3/18/14

My knee was starting to bug me last week and I realized I had over 650 miles on my current pair of running shoes. Hello fun new colored shoes! We will become good friends.

3/17/13

Walking the halls of home depot during our date on Sunday afternoon. Yup, gotta take what you can get.

3/16/13

I eat these every day. Really.

3/15/13

My girls truly do love each other, though they were bribed with candy for this picture.

3/14/13

The girls are getting lots of entertainment from all the balloons around our house.  Here they are practicing jumping with them to see if they'll fly.

3/13/13

I surprised Eric on his 32nd birthday this year with well wishes from 32 family members and friends hung from 32 balloons.  It was a BIG hit!

3/12/13

The thing I wanted most for my birthday was a cake from Glutteny, a GF bakery in Squirrel Hill.  It did not disappoint.

3/11/13

Didn't snap a photo today, so I am borrowing another from this week.  Sophie has decided she is too much of a "big girl" for the blue baby swing.  Guess we don't need to pack it up to bring to Michigan!

3/10/13

Emily made these flowers today, to give me to on my birthday.  The idea and the creation were done entirely by herself.  I was impressed!

3/9/13

These shoes carried me eight wonderful, sunny miles this morning in 1:02:05, an average pace of 7:46.

3/8/13

Sophie made this at church today while I was working. I love it, but am so glad I was not the one who had to clean up the sprinkles after she was done.

3/7/13

Sophie had a minor surgical procedure today to open a blocked tear duct.  Even though it wasn't a long or difficult surgery, I was still very glad to get my baby back in my arms after it was over.

3/6/13

Emily had a snow day today. This is what the ground looked like at noon when it was 40 degrees. It's a head scratcher.

3/5/13

I could eat this meal every night for many, many nights before tiring of it.

3/4/13

Who knew feeding the cat would be so much fun?

3/3/13

Grandma Ruth has taught Emily how to enjoy having her back scratched. She's a fan!

3/2/13

While Sophie was hanging around (literally), Emily strapped on a pair of skates for the first time.

3/1/13

This one has very few fears. If I didn't think she's going to end up pretty darn tall, we'd start investing in gymnastics lessons right now.

2/28/13

Emily played in a "concert" at school today with various instruments she and her classmates created.

2/27/13

Emily brings home LOTS of projects from school, but this one was special, she told me.  When I asked her why, she said it was because it taught her perseverance, and that sometimes the best crafts really take some time to finish.

2/26/13

While I have yet to master the art of all GF baking, my muffins are pretty darn good.  Less than 12 hours after I made a dozen, this was the only one left for my breakfast!
